Track. Budget. Grow.
Privacy Policy
MoneyTrack is designed to help you track spending, manage budgets and savings, and understand what you can safely spend each day. Your financial information is kept on your device unless you explicitly choose to export it.
1. Information MoneyTrack processes
MoneyTrack may process the following information in order to provide its features:
- Transactions you enter manually, including amount, merchant/name, date, category, and type.
- Budget settings, recurring payments, savings balances, savings goals, merchant aliases, and category rules.
- Payment information contained in supported payment notifications, such as merchant name, amount, currency, and notification time.
- App preferences such as language, currency, widget configuration, and app-lock settings.
2. Google Wallet and notification access
MoneyTrack can use Android's notification access feature to detect payment notifications from supported payment apps such as Google Wallet. This access is optional and must be enabled manually by the user in Android settings.
When enabled, MoneyTrack reads relevant payment notification data to create transaction entries automatically. Notification processing is performed on the device.
3. Local storage
MoneyTrack stores its financial data locally on your Android device using an on-device database. MoneyTrack does not require a user account or cloud account to function.
MoneyTrack does not currently upload your transaction history, budgets, savings goals, or other financial records to a MoneyTrack server.
4. Backups and exports
MoneyTrack allows you to export transaction data and create backups. These files are created only when you choose to create or share them. Once a file leaves the MoneyTrack app, its storage and sharing are controlled by the location or app you selected.
You are responsible for keeping exported financial files secure.
5. Biometric and device authentication
If you enable app lock, MoneyTrack may ask Android to authenticate you using a supported biometric method or device credential. Biometric verification is handled by Android.
MoneyTrack does not receive or store your fingerprint, face scan, biometric template, PIN, or device password.
6. Advertising, analytics, and sale of data
MoneyTrack currently does not contain advertising SDKs and does not sell your personal or financial data.
MoneyTrack also does not use your financial history for targeted advertising or cross-app tracking.
7. Permissions
Depending on which features you enable, MoneyTrack may request or rely on the following Android capabilities:
- Notification access: to detect supported payment notifications.
- Notification permission: to show MoneyTrack notifications such as payment confirmations and reminders.
- Biometric/device credential access: to protect the app when app lock is enabled.
- File access through Android's system picker: when you choose to export or restore a backup.
Optional permissions can be disabled through Android settings, although related features may stop working.
8. Data retention and deletion
Your MoneyTrack data remains on your device until you delete individual records, clear the app's storage, restore another backup, or uninstall the app. Exported files remain wherever you saved them until you delete them.
9. Children's privacy
MoneyTrack is a general-purpose personal finance tool and is not designed to knowingly collect personal information from children through an online service. Because the current version stores data locally and does not require an account, MoneyTrack does not operate a remote user database containing children's personal information.
10. Changes to this policy
This Privacy Policy may be updated when MoneyTrack's features or data practices change. The effective date at the top of this page will be updated when a new version is published.
